Welcome to the Seedsman Community!

We know it can be daunting joining a new platform, especially with lots of new features.

Just to be a little bit more helpful, we built a quick guide to show you around.

**How to Reply:**

To reply to another member in a discussion, simply find the post you’d like to respond to and click the **Reply** button beneath it. This opens the reply editor and links your message directly to that specific post.

Using the reply button on an individual post helps keep conversations clear and easy to follow. Other members can see exactly which comment you’re responding to, making the discussion more organised for everyone.

Once the editor opens, write your response and click **Reply** to publish it in the thread.

If you’d like to respond to the overall topic rather than a specific comment, you can use the **Reply** button at the bottom of the thread instead.

**How to Quote another user in your Reply:**

If you’d like to reference part of another member’s post in your reply, Seedsman Community makes it simple.

Highlight the section of text you want to quote. Once selected, a small **Quote** button will appear next to the highlighted text. Click this button and the selected section will be added to the reply editor as a quote.

You can then write your response beneath the quoted text. This helps provide clear context for your reply and shows other members exactly which part of the conversation you are referring to.

Using quotes can help keep discussions clear and easy to follow, particularly in longer threads where several members are contributing.

**How to Create a Thread/Topic:**

Starting a new discussion is a great way to share ideas, ask questions, or begin a conversation with other members of the community. If there’s something on your mind, creating a new thread (also called a topic) helps bring people together around that discussion.

To begin, navigate to the category that best fits the subject you’d like to talk about. Once inside the category, click the **+ New Topic** button, usually found in the upper right corner of the page.

 ![New Topic](https://europe1.discourse-cdn.com/seedsman/original/1X/d29628560c608a117c57343efbac775309f078c9.png)

This will open the topic editor, where you can add two key things:

A clear **Title** that lets others quickly understand what the discussion is about.
Your **Message** , where you can share your thoughts, ask a question, or introduce the topic you’d like to explore.

Before publishing, take a quick moment to review your post and make sure everything reads clearly. When you’re ready, click **Create Topic** to share it with the community.

Your thread will then appear in the category you selected, where other members can read it, join the discussion, and share their own experiences and perspectives.

This kind of open discussion is what helps the community grow — through shared knowledge, curiosity, and conversation.

**How to Update user Profile:**

Keeping your profile up to date helps other members of the community understand a little more about who you are. It also helps create a more personal and welcoming space for everyone taking part in discussions.

To update your profile, click on your profile picture or username in the top right corner of the screen. From the menu that appears, select **Profile**.

Once you are on your profile page, click the **Edit Profile** button. This will open your profile settings, where you can update details such as:

Your profile picture
Your **About Me** or short bio
Your location
Website or social links
Other profile information available in the forum settings

When you have finished making changes, remember to save your updates so they appear on your profile.

Updating your profile is completely optional, but adding a little information about yourself can help other members connect with you and make conversations across the community feel more personal.

**How to Update your Notifications:**

Seedsman Community allows you to adjust your notification settings so you can decide how and when you hear about activity in the community. Setting these preferences helps you stay involved in the conversations that matter to you, without being overwhelmed by updates.

To review or update your notification settings, click on your profile picture or username in the top right corner of the screen. From the menu that appears, select **Preferences**.

Inside the **Preferences** section, open the **Notifications** tab. Here you will find several options that let you manage how the forum keeps you informed, including:

Notifications when someone replies to your post
Notifications when someone mentions you
Email notification settings
Notification preferences for specific topics and categories

 ![Notifications](https://europe1.discourse-cdn.com/seedsman/original/1X/510f1be31279e9485ebed5f7bd1a1ae61b245575.png)

You can adjust these settings to match how often you would like to receive updates, and whether you prefer to see them directly on the forum or by email.

Once you have made your changes, remember to save your settings so they apply to your account. This helps shape a community experience that works best for you.
