I tried to reply to the other Cooking Thread but it won’t let me. How many of you use something like a Levo for infusions? I have a Levo II and love it. Make my MCT Oil and use it to make gummies. I also use it for non-cannabis infusions. It works great. Curious what others are doing.

This is the recipes I am going to try. They are alpha gal friendly but y’all can make what ya want.

Decarboxylation guide:

Materials

Baking sheet

Parchment paper or aluminum foil

Oven

Cannabis

Cannabis grinder (optional)

Directions

Set the oven temperature to 220ºF, with the oven rack in the middle position. Ovens are hotter at the top and cooler at the bottom, so heating in the middle will ensure ideal decarboxylation temperature.

Line the baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil, and lightly break up or grind the cannabis onto it, but not too fine**, to avoid burning.**

Heat for 30-40 minutes, stirring at least once.

Let cool for 30 minutes at room temperature. The cannabis should look lightly toasted and golden brown.

When cool enough to handle, add the decarboxylated cannabis to butter, oil, or another base for an infusion, or carefully put it in a storage container for future use.

Cannabis-Infused Coconut Oil:

Combine 1 cup of coconut oil and 7 grams of decarboxylated cannabis in a double boiler over low heat. Simmer for 2 to 8 hours, stirring occasionally. Strain through a cheesecloth into a jar. This is an excellent dairy-free alternative for baking or adding to your morning coffee**.**

Simple Infused Olive Oil: Mix decarboxylated cannabis with olive oil in a slow cooker on low for about 2 hours. Alternatively, simmer in a small pot for 30 minutes to 2 hours, ensuring it does not burn. This oil is perfect for drizzling over chicken or fish, which are alpha-gal safe proteins.Vegetable Glycerin Tincture: Mix 7 grams of decarbed cannabis with 4 oz of vegetable glycerin in a sealed mason jar. Place the jar in a slow cooker filled halfway with water and heat on the lowest setting for 24 hours. This sweet tincture can be taken directly under the tongue or added to any beverage**.**

Simple Medicated RecipesPectin-Based Strawberry Gummies:

These avoid the gelatin typically found in gummies. Use fresh or frozen strawberries, pectin powder, sugar, and your cannabis-infused coconut oil or canna-sugar. Pectin provides a “pillowy” texture and is completely plant-based (mammal-free).

Alpha-Gal Safe Cannabis Tea:

Steep your favorite tea bag in hot water and stir in 1 tablespoon of your infused coconut oil. This is a quick, no-cook way to manage pain symptoms like those from fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis.

Infused Honey Lemon Pepper Wings:

Use chicken wings (poultry is safe for alpha-gal) and toss them in a mixture of honey, lemon, pepper, and a small amount of your infused olive oil or coconut oil.

True! I didn’t even notice that. Maybe we should ask James to reopen the thread. @james_seedsman please can you open the thread above?

I have the Levo II also. Love it for making small batches or when I want to activate the herb for making tincture. :slightly_smiling_face:

Seems like right now I’m mostly making infused sugar. Works great for the cookies and brownies.

I know some just use a food processor, but I gotta say I also really like my KactusKutter K2 for grinding up big batches.

Oh, and each cookie is about 50mg :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: (currently using Grape Ape)

Cooking with weed is my favorite pastime. It all started back 2019 when I wasn’t very well, I was having epileptic seizures and I found that cannabis stopped them.

However, smoking only helped for about an hour… although when in the middle of the grandmal, it stopped the shaking within a couple of minutes.

I realized through trial and error that I needed to have a relatively high constant level of cannabinoids in my system, and smoking has too many peaks and troughs, sabes?

Hence I looked at cooking with weed as an alternative.

I used to make bread every day for my family so I just added some grinder dried weed to the dough mix.

My thinking was that the dough making process and the baking in the oven would activate (decarb/cook) the key cannabinoids.

It took a bit of time to get the amount right… The first batch of bread just one slice was enough!

The bread recipe was my Nanna’s, I just added the weed.

If you would like me to post the recipe, just let me know.

Have a wonderful weekend :sparkles: :four_leaf_clover:
