I defoliated them heavily to keep the humidity within an acceptable range. These are essentially tests of the genetics and a way to see how many males turn up

Time to sort

No.1 - male

No.2 - male

No.3 - male

No.4 - female

No.5 - female

No.6 - male

No.7 - male

No.8 - female

No.9 - female

No.10 - female

I will decide over the next few days which male I am going to keep

What will be the determining factor of the “keeper’s”

The first criterion is that it smells roughly like Kali Dog when you rub the stem, and the second criterion would be a pleasant-smelling blend of both parents

So you’re basically picking the one that has the desired smell, sounds like a good enough reason for me!:+1::disguised_face: I like it :+1: what if you “can’t really tell” by smell alone?

Without conducting extensive scientific tests, it’s more a matter of experience—and a bit of a gamble:game_die::game_die:

Bud sites are beginning to form

I kept the male labeled number 1 because it comes closest to the Kali Dog in terms of smell

The five females now have enough space, even though I’ve added a Kali Dog to the mix which plant had already moved in last week. I’ll pollinate it with the ‘No. 1’ from the Kali Dog x Spice cross once it’s ready for pollination. All plants were watered with nematodes today as a precaution

Looking good :+1:, so, if I get it:thinking::joy::roll_eyes: the :ram: male plant :cactus: is going to pollenate the other female :ewe: plants :potted_plant: :potted_plant:, right :+1: :red_question_mark:

Almost right  This time I’m only pollinating the Kali Dog:saluting_face: First, I’d like to see how the other females do.

A great blend of terpenes

The flowering stretch is almost over, and I’ll be harvesting pollen tomorrow from No.1

No.4 - In terms of aroma and resin production, it leans more towards the “spice” side

No.5 - In terms of aroma, it’s an almost identical copy of Kali Dog

No.8 - Smells like a lemon cream tartlet with gassy undertones towards the end

No.9 - In terms of aroma, it falls somewhere between the two, but exhibits more of a sativa-like growth pattern

No.10 - Smells almost identical to No. 5, but leans more towards the gassy side

No.1 and Kali Dog

The buds are stacking nice

They are 4 weeks into flower now

The Kali Dog was pollinated; the Kali Dog x Spice male was removed during the week after I had collected the pollen

OoO i LOVE the structure of this genetic, are these all from seed or clone?!

Just noticed they are from seed!

Wow that apical dominance trait is really locked in!

This looks like a perfect genetic for the “SOG” method with its main stem dominance - 1/2 gallon pots, 12/12 light schedule from clone

I’ll call it Kali Spice when it’s finished
