My compost secrets

Planet of the vapes (website) and Volcano Hybrid tabletop vape.

I go check it out lol more research

Good peeps over there

That’s cool. I haven’t taped before i ran gas station for years vape cause popcorn lungs

Sent reply earlier to James but trying not to be repetitive. To the point. MacGyvered enough! Broke through frustration and bought 5X9 Vivosun and Vivosun humidifier getting everything out of my cold, dry basement. Plants surely doing well but by excessive babying them. Now will be first floor heated/cooled. Already had wonderful light for use, heater and fan. Could care less right now about odor as in its own room w/door.

Yay Now you don’t gotta run up and down stairs .

Didn’t mind that much. I’m retired and need that but get this! I’ve been seriously needing humidity. Guess how? Two very wet towels hanging inside. Dry quite quickly to redo all over again. GET THAT TENT & HUMIDIFIER HERE ASAP!

Plants are doing great, don’t stress. That many wet pots will make a microclimate with plenty of humidity around them. Cold could be making them grow a little slower but I don’t see any issues. :ok_hand:

Tea with old compost and those ingredients, very doable. No new manure! Burn for sure! If water is ph great and soil is as well, run off could be used. Other is from turnable bin with capture bin. Place run off in compost pile, buy and let worms be your vermicomposters, with all else I described (could take a year with manual labor) or two years bringing the softest most wonderful earthy smell ever! How many super grow years I’ve had! Has to be quite a part of the microbes too.

We use the chickens manure for our gardens. We put hay down in the coops and area. When it’s yucky, we dump it across the ground and let the chickens till it in. My husband then in spring runs the rototiller over it. Our soil is nice!

Wow, what a simply executed plan! Sounds like when cleaning out a friends neglected barn with a foot of old rabid manure, I used in their flower and vegetable gardens. Loads of flowers and veggies that year!

Manure is good stuff. Some people shy from it but me personally the stinker the better

:poop::poop::poop::poop::poop::poop::poop:u know it:poop::poop::poop::poop::poop::poop::poop:

Chickens manure is really good source of Nitrogen. Just got to let it compost over the winter.

Be careful it’ll fry stuff

Oh yeah, the grass won’t grow it’s hot stuff

You want to be careful handling manures and guanos when immunocompromised, they can contain some nasty sh!t you don’t want to breath or ingest. Recommend gloves and masking up, for those microbe teas you brew too

I wear safety glasses lol too

That’s very true! A little dab’ll do ya. Copy nature. I surely try since learning from mistakes in my youth with compost.
Interesting, so I’ll share, trying not to be winded long:
First few attempts when young: always anaerobic. Couldn’t get to turn aerobic even with turning every day a huge pile by hand shoveling. Really bad odor. Went on like this for months. Scoured the library and other sources. Finding someone saying thus: “For a pile that won’t turn, add two liters of sugar (not diet) Coca Cola on top and mix.” I thought, WHAT? Well, I’ve tried everything, why not. Did so. Two or three days later after a big rain, huge humidity clouds coming off from pile. Never have had to do that again but had wonderful compost that year. Who knew?

Great advice! I get tea from the bottom holes of turntable barrel to catchment container on bottom. Nasty smelling stuff. Wife wants nothing to do with it. I remove barrel, take to large compost piles and add mixing it in. Supposed to be great stuff. With the banana peels (worms love’m) & etc., it all turns to heavenly earthy dark black wonderful aroma stuff!
Note to self again, BUY MORE UNCLE JIM’S WORMS. And by the hundreds!
