It’s a re-imagined Coco For Cannabis DIY. I planned to do a break down in this sub after harvest this week. It’s a simple 14gal res with fountain irrigation. I have a supply pump in the res as well as a mixing pump and air stone. I can usually do 4-5 days of feeding until they’re in heavy flower and it drops down to 2-3. After this grow I plan to do a res swap to 40gal. That in turn increases waste recovery requirements, so….gotta give this some though.

the next grow.

Outdoor grower ESE view. Maryland climate. The enclosed space is 24x36 feet. We have a 4 plant limit, but the space is designed for 6+. The right half of the area is not used for growing because of the shade from the carport. The left half of the garden gets mostly full sun all day. In the morning and evening I lose the first and last 10-20 minutes of light due to being in a valley. In mid day - the peak of the roof shades some of the lower canopy in the middle of the garden (providing some natural AC). The fencing is 8 foot high 80% light block privacy fence - doubled up. Fence posts are an assortment of T posts, wooden fencing, and repurposed trees. Water source is well water, acid neutralized and iron filtered, but from a tap before the water softener.

I had been growing in pots because the soil was bad next to the house. To grow in ground I needed to put in good soil and raise the fence (my plants in pots were already visible over the fence).

So I dug “the pit” and used the bad soil to raise the ground under the fence (left side of first pic) and lower the good soil level so I could grow 7 foot tall plants and still be legal. Here the pit is already partially filled in with “garden mix” soil from a local landscaper supplemented with straw, biochar, worm castings, and manure. No special recipe, just winging it.

The finished garden had some (cough) drainage issues.

This was after a 4” dump and it siphoned off ok. That’s 16 foot x 50 inch cattle fencing arbored over the plants to provide support for a greenhouse film cover during late flower. That part of the system has not been deployed yet.

Had some leaf spot in the first crop. Have some fungi and some nasty stuff called Cease that should help with that. This year’s improvements include installing a drain, testing the cover and setting up weather proof outdoor fans.

The goal is to pull 10 pounds/year. I got 3 pounds total last year from 4 plants. THC levels were from 16-19%. Totals terps were from 1.4 - 2.0%. Had two plants of one cultivar combined and full panel tested at a lab. Mold was 3x the limit but otherwise not noticeable.

While I’ve “graduated” to this set up over time, I used to be just a closet grower. Now a 4mo. grow cycle easily yields a year supply.

I am using a:

  • 4 x 4 grow tent,
  • 480w Mars Hydro Smart FC48000
  • 2 - AC Infinity CLOUDLINE LITE A6 (due to proper heat/air exchange)
  • Inkbird Humidity Controller IHC200 to add humidity when needed via a humidifier
  • Trellis netting when the grow gets to that stage
  • Grow Bags, the Thick Aeration Non Woven Fabric kind (water comes out, roots stay in)
  • JR Peter’s 77860 Jack’s Professional Peat Lite 20-10-20 Fertilizer (during veg.)
  • Home-made compost cut with peat moss and sand for texture and draining.
  • PH and TDS meters for water and nutes monitoring
  • Quantum Par Light meter

That’s mostly it in a nutshell. While this seems like a lot, I’ve accumulated all this little by little over the years and the nice thing is… .once you own it, you own it!!

*Please note in my full-size tent pic, I had my previous lights, my closeup represents my current lights for my last 2 grows.

Hello everyone! I’m excited to see how things continue to go in the community.

I am an autoflower grower, so far, with plans to move into photoperiod eventually. I currently have a small budget setup. Here’s what I got going on

  • 3x3x72 tent (Amazon cheapy)
  • 6 inch Mars hydro carbon exhaust fan, filter and controller that I vent outdoors.
  • 2x viparspectra P1000 led panels(new 300w spider farmer on the way!)
  • Humidifier(cheap reptile one)
  • 1x 6 inch spider farmer circulation
  • 1x 6 inch vivosun circulation fan
  • Ac infinity self watering pots
  • 5 gallon fabric pots
  • 4 side led grow lights for lower canopy
  • Homemade living soil
  • Combo pH, ppm, EC, temperature tester
  • As for nutrients, I prefer organic but use Jack’s 321 when I grow soilless, recharge (as needed), jackpot micros, lotus cal-mag, and gold silicon.
  • Seeds I’ve used: seedsman, Mephisto, and Fastbuds.

Hello,I have an old 5X5 Gorilla tent..2 large 4x4 and 5x5 coverage Mars lights that are dimmable. I think the T3000 or 2000..the big one  got 2 of those..several COB lights..4 of those.a closet light 150W. 4ft T5 bank.8 bulb..2 2ft 4 bulb banks..seedling mats, large 4ft mats.2 of those. Several bins for mixing soil n such. I love living organics, AACTs,composting soils n all that..but can’t as easily due to health so been using other methods and hybrid methods to grow organic smooth meds.i use 3-5-7 trade gallon pots..looking at Gorilla pots since they say they’re true gallon sizes like #3-#4 pots..pretty cool..well,that’s about it.lemme see if i can find a few pics.and of course outdoors too..not often, but running or gonna try this season. That’s an old pic from outside yrs back when I grew smaller

Hey everyone I’m a living soil grower. I’ve been growing for about 15 years. Seedsman has been my seed supplier all these years of making mistakes and learning along the way. My favorite strains are Feminised Indicas an hybrids. My setup includes a 7x7 room I constructed Ina corner of the basement. My current setup is 2 horticulture Lighting Group LED panels (scorpion Diablo 750) with UV supplement. CO2 enrichment as well. My preferred method of growing is in soil. I use peat moss and organic amendments. I try to stay away from any salts if I can in my soil. I’m a grower and a shower :victory_hand::green_heart:
