Pertinent and very interesting post. I’m there!

Gardener, composting over 30 yrs, pro landscaper. Know just about zilch growing cannabis. Long time grower brother in law states, “It’s a weed. Put it in the ground, feed it, water it and forget it.” I’m sure that’s not all that is needed but I’m on my first run with sprouted seeds now in my varied mixture of compost, nutrient and amendments.
Started seedling with just enough water over top of seedlings for five days. Then read others are using much more water as soil is all wet (not drowning) so the soil is now wet to just holding together. Lighting is from California Solar 550 with controller. All vegetables there now on bench (no tent or anything else for cannabis later). Have photo and autos. Suggestions very welcome!

Sounds like you’re well on your way my friend :victory_hand: i did landscaping for a cpl yrs but mostly nursery work for yrs and tree farm for maybe 4 or 5 yrs. And always had a natural gifted skill with plant’s really..God given kinda thing  but depending whatcha what in a grow,or meds will overall dictate what you should grow. I grow both too.but doing autos currently, but fixing to do several photos. Lots of Indie meds and so e hybrid plant’s too.

So if you got access to green waste compost as well as standard garden compost, you can make some amazing teas for veg n flower :blossom: :cherry_blossom: you’ll have e to start a thread if ya haven’t n post whatcha got going on..if i may ask what kind of meds to you prefer, and for what?pain, sleep, injuries? Anywho, be well n talk soon:victory_hand::folded_hands:

I’ve managed some amazing returns, with patience, from my mixtures of compost/vermicompost to very deep dark crumbly wonderful earthy smelling soil. The mixtures would include quite a cooking list and I’m ever learning. My tomatoes are always over six feet while the cherries are ever producing all summer just to name those two. I really enjoy the challenge of producing for free an expensive grow product and currently have three big piles. It’s fun, except for turning by hand. Hence vermicomposting (leave them mostly alone to do their magic).

Enough. My sprouts are growing in a sprout mixture I created and are seemingly loving it! I do also add liquid nutrients in very small amounts again leaning to what vegetable gardeners would use. Outdoors said compost mixtures are in raised beds. New to cannabis so we’ll see. I’ll probably never do the involvement others do but I truly admire the science and effort. There’s that end of the spectrum and my long time grower brother-in-law saying, “It’s a weed, dig a hole, plant, water and feed=bud.”

Forgot to answer your ?. My first grow is sativa and indica (in quire a mixture) and are all pretty high THC/low CBD. But according to company they are all heavily used in medicinal. I’m quite sure they’ll work for muscle strain and RHA or just about any malady physical or emotional/mental.
