Usually from someone else’s plants/clone. Good idea to quarantine any new plants you bring in for a period. You can pick them up off of other people’s plants and they hitchhike to their new home. Can also be in the soil.

Yes I had this experience before, moved my plants to a friends grow area and infested every one of his plants (cannabis and non-cannabis) with mites … doh.
