How come it only allowed me to reply to a few messages and topics and now I get a reply in one hour icon
I think it’s a safety mechanism. You just joined. You could be a bot.
Your trust level grows with time as you comment, like, and post new topics.
It just happened to me the other day and I’m a founding member. I was extremely chatty that day. Fortunately, it was limited to the topic I was in at the time, and not the entire site.
I was still able to go to another topic and participate there, and I was still able to create new topics. 
Yeah, she can real chatty. Lol The system might even deny you!
I saw it. Seems to be working fine. It takes time for responses

I got a message from “system” the other day saying my trust level had been increased to level 2.
Wasn’t sure what that was about but makes sense now.

The reason for this is related to the community trust level system. When you first join the community, there are some temporary limits on posting and interactions. This helps us protect the community from spam, bots, and misuse while new members get settled in.
The good news is that these limits are not permanent. As you continue to interact within the community by reading posts, replying to discussions, and giving likes, your trust level will gradually increase. Once you move up to the next trust level, you’ll be able to post more freely and access additional community features.
So the more active and engaged you are, the quicker those restrictions are lifted.
