Exciting update: I actually won the clone giveaway!
I’m so stoked to get this started. I’ll be documenting the entire process, from the initial growth to harvest, and I’m even planning to take some clones of my own from it. Stay tuned for short videos and frequent updates as it develops!
*Veg Day 1–12: Clone Run – Watermelon Rush*
Quick day 12 update. Things are perking up.
All the new growth is coming in looking healthy, but overall they’re still growing a bit slow. I expect that to change once the roots fully establish and fill out the pots. They were probably a little stressed from shipping, but they should bounce back soon.
I took the acclimation slow after they arrived in the mail. Started them on the tent floor at ∼50 PPFD to avoid shock. After 2 days I began raising them up on foam exercise mats to gradually increase light intensity. By Day 8 they were on the table at ∼200 PPFD, but I kept them off to the side of the tent for less intensity.
Now at Day 12, they’re next to the rest of the garden getting the same ∼300 PPFD. I know I’m going slower than some growers, but this step-up approach works for me.
*Other plants in the tent:*
- *Gorilla Gas *: Only got 1 of 3 to pop, which sucks because this cultivar is fire. The one that made it is healthy, strong, and already vigorously outgrowing the Jelly Donut.
- *Jelly Donut*: 100% germination. She’s lagging a little behind the Gorilla Gas right now, but I’m sure that’ll change once I move her up to full light along with the Watermelon Rush.
[Clone].
Tent status:
All good. Thanks for reading.
Well…
I’m missing the GGS soil sensors because I was avoiding the power-strip, but now I like what I’m seeing there. Is there a trigger function to power-on a reservoir pump when it gets to a preset moisture threshold?
![]()
They look good, thanks for posting. Can’t wait to see them flower. Good luck and enjoy the journey.
There are triggers for most things, not sure about that one.
The Spider Farmer drip irrigation system with those probes is a total game-changer, especially with coco coir. It gives you real-time data on soil moisture, so you can tailor your watering to exactly what your plants need. Perfect setup for your week-long trip – you’ll be stress-free knowing they’re getting exactly what they need
.
Seriously! Like, how hard is it to turn on a pump when the threshold is met?
Or another one; how hard is it to turn off the humidifier when the exhaust is on?
Smh. What ya gonna do? These are the days of my growers life, lol!

But does it automate the pump when a threshold is met? Or do you have to manually figure it out with a different timer and hope it works while yer out?
Yeah, I can set the pumps to kick on at 40% water content. I run the Spider Farmer GGS AC10, so in theory I can run 4 different pumps for 4 different plants. Each probe controls its own dedicated pump and turns it on when it hits the percentage I set. Once it hits that %, the pump runs for however long I program it to.
That’s just too cool! It’s so hard to tell from their website description, and I was kinda waiting for exactly this moment; someone who ran the whole system to tell me what it can do. Thank you!

Thanks @Dale, glad you got them safely, really excited to see the updates in these clone threads ![]()
Yay congrats Dale! I’m looking forward to the documented progress on these clones. We’re looking to try some clones as well. Not sure when or where we will get but I will keep you posted.
Things are running smooth now. The Spider Farmer drip system is back online and the girls are on the floor under 350 PAR, absolutely thriving.
Looking good there
Snug as a bug olin rug! ![]()
All looks good
I like all the soil temp readings ect. Awesome stuff
Only 5 days, and they’re shooting for the lights — doubled in height like they’re late for something. The back right is out growing the rest.
Beautiful.
Looks great man
I love everything about cannabis. ![]()
Even my mistakes. Lol.
The Watermelon rush didnt like my mix. But we’re on track and everything is looking great. Working our way to flower in about two weeks.
Cheers
Reply I do to but mistakes usually cost us. Lol that’s why so important for me to learn I like the good stuff.
