First grow has officially started

I’m running 16/8 as a bit of an experiment to see where it gets me. I am almost certain of end parameters using 18/6.

Update : 3/25. Second seed popped and went into soil to ight. RH is around 65 with temps average 73-75 F. Heater has been implemented for nights colder than 65 degrees.

Need a humidity dome! Find one! Use a 2 liter bottle if ya need ! Spray the inside and if the soils is dry lightly dampen with spray or nute syringe. Delicate time right meow!

No worries, I’ve been using em. My RH should be back to 70ish now, I had my tent door open longer than I wanted.

Girls aRe misted and enjoying their tropical climate of 74ish degrees and 70% RH. Hopeful to see some breakthrough in the next couple of days. Both mediums were watered and hit with sticky traps. The race to veg officially started!

I’ve learned so many tricks from experience and a very close eye on what nature/environment produces for flowering plants in the swamps where I grew up in my so very early teens. Later from vids, other odd but important info for nutrients and still learning as of yesterday (new nutrient).

But yes, my cannabis seeds have sprouted and leaning to the light. The company gave great instructions for light gradients for each stage of growth. Of course the controller makes this possible. I’m very soon now to add liquid nutrient very diluted and slowly.

Well speak of the devil and he shall appear! The SS seed broke soil today, and NO helmet head :raising_hands:t5::raising_hands:t5::raising_hands:t5: saves me the unnecessary anxiety of removing it. Hopefully within the next few days the NASC sour diesel will break dirt too.

Update 3/28: Went to check on the girls this morning, mist their domes again and check my humidifiers and the NASC sour diesel finally broke soil! No helmet head on her either so thats a stressor that’s no longer on my plate:man_dancing:t6:. Gave the soil some watering surrounding the seedlings and misted the domes again. Temps have been in the mid 70s with RH 60-75, averaging around 62ish. My environment has been incredibly dialed in since day 1 and I am impressed with myself. With the mix match hodge podge gear that I have, I think I’m starting off on a really great foot. Been taking account for the weather and how long it takes to effect my lung room. Lung room has been awesome too, other than one night where it dipped few degrees into the low sixties, lung room has been between 68-77 degrees with a RH hovering between 45-52. Happy growing, growmies!

Y’all, it almost feels like I’m posting damn near daily to this grow diary ( and quickly looking back, it nearly has been day to day!) I’m excited, I’m filled with motivation, I’m waking up every day looking forward to being in my garden and doing on my girls. Next week I’ll be buying nutrients for the girls so I can prepare for her journey into veg. Thanks for following along and for the outpouring of support and advice. I really do appreciate this community. :raising_hands:t5::seedling:

That excitement to germinate new seeds and try new things never went for me. I’m always planning and looking forward to what’s next before I even finish the current run.
Sounds like you’ve definitely caught the bug!

Couple ? How to private message? I don’t think ppl will obey but it’s scary business anyway (reply about new laws). I’d be more concerned about odor as I’m private w/three acres but have neighbors within a stones throw (no tent, fan etc.).

Sorry, I’ve been nervous about posting and the problem of odor with my primitive set up.

Click on the profile/user name and a green message button will show up next to the name.

Looking good? Let the soil dry some!

Update 04/01/26:

The bean from NASC is currently standing at 2 inches tall and the SS seed is sitting just under 2 inches. She stretched out the dirt like crazy the first a few days of seedling. The SS pheno is already developing their true set of leaves and the NASC pheno is shortly behind it. These girls are about 3-5 days apart and it’s noticeable difference.

I measured the distance between the lights and tops of the plants, both lights are 12.5 inches away from the seedlings. I will update with pictures once it’s lights on at 730.

When do you consider your plant to be in the vegging stage? Just want to know where everyone else’s head is at concerning that.

UPDATE: 4/26 EDIT:plants were just on cool down from the light, hence the drooping.

The NASC bean I saws dropping a bit when I went to refill the humidifier. I suspect it is slight overwatering, which I figured would happen as the lights I use mess with my color blindness a bit so I can’t particularly “see” the soil correctly. Im going to let the soil dry back a day or two and see if she perks up. the SS seed is doing just fine and developing leaves at a rapid pace. First pic is the SS, the second is the NASC seedling.

Looking good!
Seedlings can take a few days- week to acclimatise. I tend to think of veg as being when second set of leaves start coming in and vigorous growth starts like your SS, but don’t really count I just flip when they look ready.

Update 4/04/26: Growth is happening. I was definitely curious to see how each plant would thrive under a 16/8 schedule and so far I am not disappointed. Leaf production is starting at a good rate, they are soaking up the light and drinking dechlorinated PH’d water. My environment has been dialed in and honestly, I can’t even begin to describe how happy I am right now. Second pic is of the NASC pheno, the second is the SS pheno. These girls are gunna be leafy, I can tell.
