IPM (Pest Management)

Just because you have bugs doesn’t mean you’re dirty!

Here’s a few recommendations for some common pests in the garden.

Lost Coast: Works great for soft body pests. Aphids, whiteflies, adult fungus knats and bud rot.

Organacide : Aphids, whiteflies, leaf hoppers/ miners, fungus knats.

Organashield : Work mostly for soft body pest such as Aphids.

Neem : Works as antifungal/ soft body pests

BTI Mosquito dunks : Works for Fungus knats Larvae. It destroys the Larvae. You will need yellow sticky traps for adults. This is a natural bacteria that is totally safe for seedlings.

Safer Soap: Works as a switch up. You want to use multiple products to ensure the bugs don’t get use to it and become resistant.

Diatomaceous Earth: This only works when dry. Very effective on hard body pest such as ants, beetles and spiders.

Remember when using pesticides to use a fine mist sprayer.

Turn off your fan!

Turn down those awesome lights you got so, you don’t burn any plants!

Don’t just use one product, bugs become resistant. It’s best to use multiple products to break the life cycle of the pest.

I love Lost Coast Plant Therapy! :100:

There are times when you must continue pest management into flowering, and for that I personally want a lower oil load, and no solvent, like isopropyl alcohol, dissolving my trichomes.

For a product with a lower oil load, no solvents, and the same MOA of contact suffocation and membrane disruption, check out Athena IPM.

Plant Therapy-

Soy oil: 38%
Peppermint: 0.5%
Citric Acid: 0.25%
Inert: 61.25% (water, soap, iso alc, sodium citrate)

IPM-

Peppermint: 1.5%
Lemongrass: 1.5%
Geranium: 1.5%
Inert: 95.45 (water, yeast, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate)

IPM is roughly 10% cheaper to buy, and 35% to 80% more expensive to use, but with only 4.5% total oils and zero solvents, you can use it up to harvest if needed. And like Plant Therapy, it is EPA exempt in USA.

Edit: Both of these products are great at what they do. Insects can never become immune to these products because they can’t get immune to suffocation or dehydration.

Lost coast is great, keeps the room smelling fresh like peppermint. You can use up to harvest. Haven’t done that, though.
