This is the start of the great experiment . Areoponic pots On one side of the room is the hydro jet tub, sounding like a giant aquarium, that baby is turning water into weed . But it eats nutrients and electricity like a Big Dog. While most of you are carefully measuring your nutrients in teaspoons and grams or milliliters I measuring in cups . The pumps are running constantly to keep it all churning
In contrast, the areoponic pots only get a fine spray mist, every 10 minutes or so, for just a few seconds. About 2 gallons of water should be about all it takes for the whole grow let’s find out
As with any grow , it starts with a seed. In this case, 2. Aurora Indica and Platinum Lemon Cherry Gelato. Into the tuna can they go
Now, we wait. While the seeds are steaming, we have to convert 2 of the old hydro buckets into areoponic pots . Clean up some clay pebbles, and get their spot ready in the grow room. We have about 36 hours to get that together . We got time for another bowl let’s get some of the Bruce Banner out, see where the day takes us
So first thing we did was to see how much water it will take to cover the little pick up filter in the bottom of the bucket. One half gallon, which comes up to about 3 inches in the bucket. So we will mount our spray nozzles just above that line.
Just checked on the seeds, nothing yet they’re warm and moist I’m not sure how long the heating pad was off yesterday, I guess we wait turn the heat up a little
nEvEr these things happen, this is technically only the 3rd day on them, and the heating pad was off for an unknown amount of time. So we’ll see how they look tomorrow if no changes tho, I’ll add two more would be highly unusual for them both not to germinate..
Gave em another day and still nothing . You’re a no-go at this station , back of the line buddy
Ok, well, try again once again we placed the Aurora Indica in the can, this time tho, instead of the Gelato, since @SweetBuds is gone , no steak and eggs for you grasshopper , Chicken and Waffles let’s give them a ride
The mist timer is set to spray for 15 seconds, every three minutes. This is just enough to keep the pebbles moist. As the roots work down , we’ll decrease the seconds down to about 3 once the roots emerge from the bottom of the net pot .
Our pumps take 2 seconds to come on and spray. So for the 3 second spray, I will need to adjust the setting for 5 seconds.
Aurora is doing well, the Chicken had a issue with pH, somehow, it had jumped up to 10!! No idea why , that was bottled distilled water , was 6.0 when I put it in, no idea, but it’s right now, so hopefully it will start to grow this week
Making some progress with this. The Aurora Indica is doing well, the Chicken and Waffles is struggling. Had a ph issue with this one. We had used bottled distilled water, and somehow, the pH had gotten up to 10 no idea why . But it’s fixed now. Give it about a week to get back to good . Still moving forward
