Northern Lights Auto

This run of Northern Lights Auto has been moving along steadily from seed to this point. She started off strong with healthy early growth and has been building out a nice structure as the days go on.

As she’s developed, I’ve been keeping a close eye on how she responds to feed and environment. There have been a few minor signs that suggest she may be a bit sensitive to heavier nitrogen or slightly too much moisture at times, but nothing outside of what you’d expect during early veg with autos.

I’ve started introducing some light LST to gently open her up and allow better light penetration across the canopy. The goal here is to encourage more even growth and set her up for better site development going into the next phase.

Overall, she’s been stable, responsive, and progressing in the right direction. With a small adjustment to feeding on the next dryback, I’m expecting her to bounce back fully and continue pushing healthy growth.

Looking forward to seeing how she develops over the next stretch.

Great to have you here! Northern Lights Auto was my first grow back in 2016 – excited to see the progress over the coming weeks.

Northern Lights Auto — Day 50

Now that she’s fully transitioned from veg into flower, this Northern Lights Auto has been developing nicely — especially considering this is my second run.

One of the biggest differences compared to my last grow (Zkittlez Auto) has been running a single plant instead of three. The extra space has made a huge impact, allowing me to properly SCROG her out and manage both heat and humidity much more effectively. Overall, the plant structure and canopy have been much easier to control this time around.

Over the past few days, I’ve been running a slightly lighter feed, but she hasn’t responded the way I was hoping. Because of that, I’ll be gradually increasing the EC from 0.9–1.0 up to around 1.2–1.4 to see how she reacts and help push healthier development through flower.

She’s still stacking and showing good progress, so with a few adjustments I’m expecting her to continue filling out and gaining strength.

Looking forward to seeing how she responds over this next stretch. :seedling:

I hope this post as an update :folded_hands: but if not I’ll try to get it down for the next post. I don’t wanna say I’m hooked on growing but so far it been amazing seeing how they develop and grow.

Oooo been waiting for an update on this one!

Just out of interest, in having extra space with two less plants, do you think your overall yield will be better on this plant for giving her extra space? Or not much difference yet?

I grew one last year, nice plant. Mine got a case of mold started and I had to harvest it earlier than expected. Going to do another one this fall. Can’t wait to see it finish out

Honestly I feel like since I went down to 1 plant iv actually over analyzed her and I’ve been having a harder time keeping her happy as supposed to the zkittlez Auto I first grew. It’s been fun as hell growing her but not sure if more yelled since I had more space but I was able to learn how to look and see exactly how I can use the space better for more plants. I had a mixing nutrient order mess up that make her go into a spiral but thankfully I was able to figure it out before more damage was done. I’ve been trying to keep her happy and healthy just last week I was able to start feeding her the correct ec so hopefully she can continue on the up and up.

Thats a really cool insight. Would be super interesting to compare yields in the end.

I love that green in the photos, absolutely pops.

Somebody doesn’t like to defoliate. :scissors:

My first two runs in that new hydro system was a disaster, learning how to mix, and keep it all in check was a hard learn.
That was before this community, I’ve learned more here in a week than I learned on my own over 40 years

I don’t take much off autos, only what I must, but yeah, it needs a trim :weary_cat:

Do you use the leaves for anything?

I’ll definitely be posting everything i end up doing with her i just wish I had recorded and saved more from my zkittlez run. I know I ended up with 6 full 64 oz mason jars of zkittelz i was able to make some dry shift hash and flower rosin and had about 2 gallon size bags of trim and lowers. Personally more than enough but I’m excited to actually record and compare as i continue to grow and share my progress. Its just so wonderful being able to grow and share and engage with others that truly love this plant.

We tried to dry some to roll with, but it didn’t work out
My nephew takes all the stuff I throw away, he has a press and works that end of the “business”.

Northern Lights Auto — Harvest Complete :herb:

Finally wrapped up my Northern Lights Auto run and overall I’m really happy with how she turned out.

She finished at 78 days seed to harvest and ended up yielding 177.4g of dried flower, which I’m honestly proud of considering some of the nutrient issues she dealt with throughout the grow. There were definitely moments where she showed signs of stress and imbalance, but with a few adjustments and patience I was able to get her across the finish line strong.

The aroma coming off her is surprisingly pleasant — she has this almost sweet, smooth scent to her that’s really nice in the jar. Definitely excited to see how she develops after a proper cure.

Overall this grow taught me a lot, and I’m happy to say she finished strong despite the challenges along the way. On to the next hunt. :eyes::seedling:

I have my new grow started so far i have 2 Green Crack and 2 Lemonchello Haze starting. I cant remember where i heard it from but someone told me that " Cannabis isn’t addictive but growing it can feel like it" im starting to understand what that means cause i cant wait to grow more and see just how they turn out.

Just wait until you can’t stop buying seeds and trying to make your own strains. It’s definitely a passion

Looks amazing! Been great to see this grow the whole way through. Let us know how it smokes.

Let us know the yield after going to one plant.
