So put it in a DMZ that separates it from your main network. Or, if you use gear other than cable co, create a VLAN that routes all traffic to the Internet, and denies traffic to your primary network, then put the cam on it.

The goal is to create a network for the cam that is logically separated from the rest of your connected stuff, while using the network gear you may already own.
