One of my biggest challenges was getting healthy clones, a few things that helped me was making sure I feed my clones with the same feeding as the mothers, and don’t shy on light and keeping my clone tray at a warm temperature, if anyone has something I can implement please shout .
I started out with a tent grow in garage about 8-9 years ago. It never worked. Bugs, disease, heat (South CA) you name it. Way more trouble than it was worth. Crappy seeds were also an issue with genetic issues. Got good seeds from Netherlands and that helped some, but the rest was a pain. Has fans, lights, humidity sensor… Put everything outside in big pots, and voila much better. Caterpillars and grasshoppers once-in-awhile and bud rot once–but much better yields and far less work. There are better seeds now too. The first Kosher Kush seeds were bad genes, but better now. Same with GSC seeds. Just germinate in cups, plant, water, fertilize and forget. Watch for bugs and disease and good to go now.
I’m hoping for the same for my photo’s especially with my expertise (long experience) with compost/nutrients/and mixes. My tomatoes are 7’, bushy and really produce! The rest are indoor and auto’s. I’m so happy hearing of your experiences. Thank you! Fully believe you. Others I guess might not have our opportunity’s and options. They do seem to do quite well though! I admire them. Too scientific and expensive for me though.
Big problem I had in the grow I’m currently in was humidity. I never ran in to this before but I guess with it being winter and my grow tent in the garage it was hard to keep humidity down. I ended up running a tiny 200w heater I got for $20 off Amazon and it helped greatly. I have also now put a dehumidifier in because I’m 6 weeks in to flower and not wanting to chance it. I now have turned heater off for the rest of grow and am down to about 50-60% humidity depending on lights on lights off. Next grow I’m going to invest in an all in one AC, heat, and humidifier. Seems to be a smart choice for $400-$500
Our biggest issue has been with seeds that do germinate getting going strong, looking beautiful & turning male So sad to have to pull such gorgeous 5 foot plants that have been doing great, until they weren’t.
The biggest challenge I’ve had to date has been funding everything. Every time I get something for the tent I tell myself this is all I need. But it’s never all I need. This becomes a passion and I’ve put a lot of hard earned money into making sure my babies are gonna be as healthy as possible.
My biggest challenge was bring two of my 4 plants back from the dead this grow. I binge drank for like a week and completely ignored my plants, they were almost in flower at that point and shriveled and so sad. Two of them I couldnt save, but the other two are alive and well, almost finished flowering. Dont drink, kids.
I would say is my auto pots and learning about them excpecially when it comes to feeding u never wanna go full strength listen to instructions. That and running a good liner cleaner. Lost a plant do to a clogged line, and my air pump kicking on. Was able to save the other 3 and they didnt herm so thats nice. Sorry late to the show am on nights at work. My biggest challenge was germinating seeds. I could never get a method that was a sure thing. I couldn’t get half to pop no matter what. I watched a few videos and Strain Show, and few other basically let me know I about temperature and adding in 1 part peroxide to 10 parts water. Now, I’m at about 90-95% success rate. Super happy to get past that stage!!
