Thanks Steven I appreciate that, and you are right I will keep joining in with the fun stuff. Just greed and jealousy can bring out the worst in people, over something so little.. Hopefully no more of that going forward

I feel that games can be fun, but there’s a time and place for that.
I also feel that “gamification” of this community is the underlying cause of the mess that ensued. To me, modern gaming in general has changed the psychological mindset, and now simple contests are more like a COD match.
For me, it’s hard to beat the old “mailbag” full of sweepstakes entries and pulling a name out of the bag live on cam.
Just my $0.02.

That’s how they did the clones and I got accused of “Seedsman favoritism” for ‘winning’ those too (that I gave to someone else on here as didn’t mean to enter)..

Yeah, really hard for me to wrap my head around. The visual says one thing while the data says another. Visual software bugs really aggravate my OCD, lol. I’m always hard on my DevOp team for stuff like that… “I don’t care if the back-end math says 2+2=18, I don’t want to see it happening.”
FWIW, I do care about the math, but to visualize it is far worse for me.

Ppl who know how to cook blackened fish. My all time favorite. I need it to as Mediterranean diet/vegetarian (eat seafood for protein w/beans and nuts).

I feel also games can be fun without all the seriousness added to them if people view them as just that a game not competition and I feel if people have issues it should be handled in private and as an adult. I was disappointed to come back and see friends gone N the uncomfortable silence that was on the forum but that being said we are all on here to have fun learn and grow so let’s do it let’s have fun together learn together and grow together.

Yes you are right the gamification encourages it, but it’s the infantile behaviour that unfortunately ruins it for the rest of us.
The voting didn’t really bother me I thought it was childish but funny. It was the random unhinged abuse/harassment that got them banned I think. Admins were quick to delete it all so you may have missed it, but got a bit out of hand

Yeah, no…I didn’t miss it because I got hauled into the back end of it all when my friend Nic replied to the group email, and then she was in my face that day from the time I woke up. That prompted me to post what I did and then Marc pulled me in to see what the fuss was about.
Smh.
I 100% agree with the “infantile behavior” assessment. I even said to Marc:
To me, after years of watching my son play Call of Duty and other rpg’s, I see this behavior as typical of the gaming community at large. I feel it is almost a built-in mentality in today’s society.
The abuse/harassment from Don was definitely uncalled for. Jen even tried to have Don cut off by Marc, but instead it pulled her deeper into the fray.
I watched this cr@p unfold from the sidelines and seriously got depressed over it. Thus I made the decision to step back and lurk more than actively participate.
I really like this place but the whole debacle completely changed the feel for me. Hopefully in time, we’ll get back to where we were.
