Schwahzing! Does anyone do it? I do!

I’m up here in the flower room and we’re deep into flowering now. I have a few girls who look a little messy. I like to trim the leaves off the nugs a week or so before cutting her down. The term is called "Schwahzing." Do any of you do this?

I think it helps the buds get more light and also cuts down on dry time.

Let us know what you do to your girls!

Yea just pretty much cut everything back and start over for flower. Old school techniques

Yes clean bottoms and middle out

I used to be shchwayzy crazy !

I do it to some. That are kinda leafy

I strip all the fans once I get a few amber trics, usually about a week before chop.

Yep, that’s what I just did to my GDP. She’s almost ready! Can’t wait to try her out. See if it tastes like it smells. Stripe bubble gum.

Especially if leafy

Ohh ya i schwazing! Lol especially if i got one laggjng out finishing. But i also let mine get a little thirsty before i cut. Seems to cut back on drying as well

I’ll water just to help with flushing even though we use organic. Wacking off all the extra leaves does help it dry quicker.

I guess yes, I didn’t know it had a name.. about a week before, I start removing most all the veg., comes time to trim, just basically cleaning up the sugar leaves and shaping

Me neither, until I watched this video and they called it a weird name. Had to make a topic on it. Lol

‘Schwazzing’ is usually done end of week 3 when stretch stops to allow maximum light penetration through the canopy.
I would take most off when growing with salts, the plant can take a lot more abuse.
With organics I still strip out the middles but leave more leaves as nutrient stores. Then slowly remove through flower if they don’t get hungry. By the end only leaving ones not covering flower sites.
Taking them all off at once is a lot of stress as that is how they transpire. Could cause herms in weaker genetics that late.

That’s true, we accidentally did that with Banner. She was bi. Lol We also had Gorilla Cookies FF that spit out a nanner. Luckily she was at the end and not by the fan. I do this about a week before I’m ready to cut down. We also have undermount lights and they really do work. No more larfy bottoms.
