beautiful plants and cool setup!! loooove seeing such vibrance - grew white widow for the first time last year it was SUPREME…. so cool you started growing in san fernando valley too - i’ve grown an SFV strain several times and its one of my favorites thanks for sharing the view into your canna-vortex
Could I ask what does the rest of your grow setup look like, specifically your nutrient regimen, watering schedule, and environmental conditions (temp, humidity, and airflow)?
I am also interested to know, is it only the grow block or is there soil underneath the grow block?
I have never used grow blocks and seeing your set up makes me want to try now.
I’ve used the Flora Flex distributors before and they are perfect for rockwool blocks. I still use their pads in my Coco grows. I put them on top inside the airports to help distribute nutes and keep algae out.
Been a while since I saw a slab grow. Looking great!
Wanted to try the Cheetah Piss for a while now so looking forward to see how they turn out. I have some Trilogene Hasbulla (Cheetah Piss x LC Runtz) seeds but I’ve seen people online have herm issues with them.. Maybe I will give them a try anyway as they sound
I’ve been using General Hydroponics Flora 3-part nutrients since 1986. 1 tsp/gal of each part is general feeding in veg. 25% of that for seedlings, 50% of that for newly rooted clones. Then at flower, I start with 1/2 tsp/gal grow, 1 tsp/gal micro, 1.5 tsp/gal bloom. Next time I fill the reservoir I increase by 50% until I get to roughly 1.3 EC. From there it depends on heat. If I’m struggling to maintain a max 83 degrees F, I hold at 1.3 EC. If temps are perfect, I’ll increase 50% strength at each res refill, until either the last week, or burnt leave tips. For burnt tips, back off 25%. If last week, back off 50%. With hydro, flush last day and you’re clean.
This is a flowering tent running 10/14 light-cycle. I move the plants from another 2x4 tent used for veg and autos running 18/6. The tents are in a spare bedroom where the house temp generally sits between 68 - 75 degrees F year-round. Humidity here in So Cal is always low, usually between 18-30%, so I have a dry problem and run humidifiers 24/7. The veg tent runs about .8-1.0 VPD, and vents to the house. The flower tent gets house air, vents out of a window kit, and generally runs at around 1.4 VPD. I’ll post those pics soon.
(3) 3”x3” grow blocks sit on (1) 3”x12”x36” grow slab. (2) slabs fit in a 2’x4’ tent (barely).
This is exactly the kind of detail that really helps others and me, thank you for taking the time to share it.
It’s great to see such a consistent approach, especially with a nutrient line you’ve clearly dialed in over the years. The way you adjust based on plant stage, EC, and environmental factors like temperature is solid, and it’s the kind of practical insight that newer growers can learn a lot from.
Your setup and workflow sound very well refined too, particularly how you manage the transition between veg and flower, along with dialing in VPD across both tents. Running into low humidity challenges and compensating with humidifiers is something a lot of growers can relate to as well.
Really appreciate you contributing this level of knowledge.
