Hey. Im still pretty new to growing i just switched for soil to cooc. Iv been running humboldts secret there full line up. Im thinking about switching nutrition. To a coco line up. Any good suggestions? Or Advice this last plant
Hi,
I use Plagron when I grow organic and Terra Aquatica when using mineral nutrients.
From Terra Aquatica I use the DryPart product grow and bloom at around 50% from the adviced maximum. Have very healthy plants like that. (There is a soft and a hard water line for this products)
I finnish with FlashClean and FinalPart.
This is the cheapest nutrient line I found, and I’m really happy with the results.
Growing with Plagron is more expensive, but they have a great organic line.
What I learned about cannabis plant nutrition is that less is better than too much. It’s a lot easier to correct deficiencies than heal burned plants.
If you have specific questions don’t hesitate.
I love growing in Coco, tried many brands over the years and House & Garden Coco ended up being my favourite, Canna a close second. Not a huge fan of either of their additives though, the Humboldt Secret ones are probably better you could try just switching out the base.
I use Advanced Nutrients Coco Connoisseur, seems to work pretty well.
You grow autos or photos. Iv been grow auto but I take off for the summer when I start back in fall im going to try photos and try cloning them for winter
I only do photos
Im using canna a&b calmag.
Look for coco specific nutrients…like I posted in in canna a/b and im already thinking of switching for next grow lol the hype dont match up to me
Was gonna tell u that you could buy dry powder like Jack’s 321…crop salt…giant green…lotus…master blend (similar to jacks) better ratios for coco
I liked the House & Garden Coco base best.
I don’t like Canna’s CalMag Agent, it may be that you are having issues with, I think the base is good.
Yeah im starting to think the same thing
coco isnt soil or peat so it behaves different. couple key things i find helps, aviod excessive dryback not more than 50% by weight. monitor ec in overdrain, ec2 is a good place to start, never run a lot of plain water thru until end of cycle, if ec high use cal mag when irrigating next assuming hand watering and no fert. can overwater so perlite in coco good some coco brands are just low quality and will stay saturated way too long, find a good brand. the best crops are grown with coco or rockwool , just gotta learn a bit.
nutrient brand is a personal thing ,most are acceptable. but i have better plants not using general hydroponics.
I agree, I like organics. It may not grow these huge plants but we want quality.
I liked to add some Insect Frass and/or Worm castings in with my Coco for the biology. Even when using water-solubles.
i try worm castings or or organic powders as a test. with other plants like basil etc also. go back to good soluble feeding every time. last test organic worm castings, varied amounts less and less . seeds damped off catgrass and cannabis, cucumber had odd mottling on leaves and what cannabis did finish was good quality the plants had lots of odd brown spots on leaves. back to good soluble feeding every time. organics hit or miss, mostly miss for me
Worm castings are only as good and healthy as what the worms are fed. If they caused issues for you probably poor quality castings.
that is wisdom. lured in by organic on label. and always test run something, this problem was obvious when i tried starting other plants ,catgrass lettuce, basil ect for summer transplants. but canna was 2 months and way reduced. i know better. organic is a promise, meals and poops can introduce a whole pile of problems. lesson learned
Strive 2 part dry, from Canada specifically designed for our interests, been working for me pretty well. Glad I don’t have to ask these questions anymore for myself.
