Canal Street Runtz outdoor 2026

I procured two clones of Canal Street Runtz in four inch pots about a week ago. I’m using a $35 Amazon LED grow light with an impressively well rounded spectrum. I have two more lights on the way to expand coverage as the plants grow. I’ve potted them up into gallons, and topped them to control height and uniformity. They’re about a foot tall now. I also got a Southern sunset clone, which I’m curious for, and a blueberry muffin I’m super excited for. I plan to use thrive alive b1, Cal mag plus, and a little silica the next watering. I have applied some dyno myco while potting up. Yesterday I dug holes two feet deep by three feet wide and incorporated organic fertilizers as I backfilled. Digging was easy because I’ve been amending with compost and potting mix for years. I used equal parts of soy bean meal, kelp meal, and fish bone meal. I watered the empty beds with ph 7 water. Next weekend I’ll be planting in the ground. Then if I don’t get lazy I’ll begin a 50 gallon batch of compost tea. I’ve got 3.5 gallons of molasses, so I guess I better use it shrug. For the first batch I’ll use two cups of molasses, a handful of garden soil, and a little dash of the same equal parts dry fertilizer I used in the holes. I’ll aerate it with two aquarium pumps with air stones attached. Stay tuned for more updates and future grows!

Sharing with you all inspired me to step up my game this season and try to do things properly. I’ve got my tall stakes set up so I can support my plants and keep them upright when they get heavy, and I’ve got my first batch of compost tea brewing so it’ll be ready by the time I need to water. So far no fatalities

What kind of teas do you use. We use Rootz Organic and Mr. Bees green trees. Thanks for sharing your journey.

I bought a bucket of molasses at the animal feed store. I literally use a handful of dirt, two cups of molasses, and a couple tablespoons of extra goodies depending on growth phase, for a 50 gallon batch. Right now for veg I’m adding kelp meal and soybean meal. I was able to get the soybean meal at the feed store as well. During flower I’ll brew some roots organics seabird guano into the tea. That stuff gives me tons of terps.

That sounds like a good mix. I’m a huge fan of rootz organic and kelp extract. I like the kelp for all stages of growth. Molasses is good for the microbes. Do you notice your ph goes up with using the kelp?

Water kind of water? Rain or tap?

I’m using tap water right now and the ph is pretty low, so I have to use ph up every time I water. With all that going on, I can’t say I’ve noticed a difference from the kelp meal. Now I’m tempted to run an experiment.

Lol. There ya go. That’s what I like to do. Run a side by side to compare the difference. I’ve heard that using too much kelp can cause tight internodal spacing

Yes especially in veg due to growth regulators! (PgrS) go easy in veg but hit em hard in flower like a bloom boost

Here’s an update from week two of the outdoor veg phase. Sorry it’s late! I got a little burning on the lower mature leaves on this one. I suspect it may be from the bacillus thuringensis spray i used to deter moths, but none of the other plants show this type of damage. Any guesses?

Hey :waving_hand: looking good :+1: I would say probably yes, the leaf definitely looks like a chemical burn, should be fine tho. Probably go ahead and remove that one. I would :scream: and the smaller ones on the bottom,

Agree! Burn bleaching most likely

Here are the latest pics of the garden. The blueberry muffins already has a distinct smell true to it’s name. The jokerz looks very indica dominant, with mostly a gasoline/skunk smell. The canal street runtz looks like a massive yielding 50/50 hybrid, and has subtle notes of gas and skunk as well, with a hint of fruitier notes yet to come. I added a sump pump on a switch with a sub-Ghz remote to my tea barrel, so i don’t have to tote buckets of water anymore.
