I think I may have a bit of an anaerobic conditions in my pots, the roots that grow through the fabric pots have all gone brown and fell off and the Cherry Poppers has lost some of her green lustre.
So I have turned off the autopot reservoir for 48 hours to dry them out a bit. I have then watered by hand 2 litres of compost teas with some added trichoderma spores to hopefully knock back any bad fungi. I’ve not ran into this problem before but my own soil mixes, I’ve used in the past have not been coco coir based like the Ecothrive so will need to keep an eye on the situation when I turn the reservoir back on but hopefully I have caught early enough.
I now have AC Infinity’s Hydrone 5 dehumidifier, so far I’m not overly impressed by it. It does knock down the RH by a few % but I’m still having to run a dehumidifier in the lung room to help it keep up. Also fitted a new carbon filter the 6" XL AC Infinity and that is working a treat. The sweet smells that smack you in the face as absolutely divine when you open the tent now.
Looking great, front left just looks a bit hungry to me? Top dress may not have been enough, could try the same again while top watering to wash it in. Also beck left and front right are looking low on Calcium, could do with extra lime or gypsum top dress if you have it.
Coco holds less water than peat so harder to go anaerobic, and I think you would see other symptoms like clawing and wilting if it was a root issue. Do the pots/bases smell bad?
Yh it could be a bit hungry, she certainly stretched the most. I’ll give her a little extra tonight and I think I have a sack of gypsum in the shed and if I can find it I will try that too, on the other two.
Day 42 of flower, I have given another top dress to girls and should be the last one on this run, 3 tablespoons of bloom amendment and 100mls of charge to each pot.
Cherry Poppers - definitely a lack of nitrogen but I’m thinking it’s a bit late now to worry too much about it, the buds are still developing nicely and the terps are Lemon on the front with undertones of sour cherry’s.
Yes absolutely, I make all my own tea’s, there is no need to buy special tea blends. Traditionally compost tea is made with high quality compost and or worm castings. When making a bacteria dominate tea I will use a couple of handfuls of my own worm castings to kick start the bacteria bloom as well as providing lots of different, if not all the nutrients you plants will need.
The hardest thing to grasp in my opinion is that you do very little with regards to feeding the plant and you need to concentrate on soil health. In our space, it’s really easy to get caught up on the little details but as long as you provide the soil with what it needs the plants look after themselves for the most part.
Just make sure you start with a quality living soil compost and that’s your golden ticket to gorgeous buds.
Day 49 of flower and the tent is very loud indeed.
This week was my birthday and my amazing wife got me some awesome genetics from Seedsman.com. So my next run is going to feature Mandarin Cookies V2 by Ethos and Seedsman included a couple of packs of some interesting Autos too. Seeing as this run will be coming to an end soon, I’ve popped some beans into pots and I will be starting a new journal for that run which will include Mandarin Cookies V2, Cherry Poppers, Lemon Cherry Gelato and Runtz Muffin from Barneys Farm.
Things are looking great in the tent, got some fade starting to come in on all but the Epic Buzz. The Lemon Cherry Gelato looks to be yhe closest to harvest day but I’m still seeing a fair few clear heads, may 7-10 days for her and the rest are 14+ days away.
My plans for drying and curing have changed some what from what I would normally do (whole plant hang in the same tent) but I’m still waiting on on the building supplies to arrive. Hopefully it works as I intend it to and that will help me have more harvest in a year and not run dry again.
Yay looking forward to them all. Happy late birthday Bongo! I’m excited to see how they turn out they look fabulous New strains I haven’t checked into yet but great your wife did well.
Yes, well the top layer is more of a trellis net because I got a lot more stretch than I was expecting, so it’s there to make sure I don’t get any floppy colas.
