Day 21 of flower and starting to see a few trichomes coming in now and the Lemon Cherry Gelato has already started to get them on her fan leaves. Gotta be a good sign that she is gonna be frosty. Not much to do this week other than watch em grow buds.

Are there any advantages or disadvantages to using SCROG versus a manifold system?

Hi @SweetBuds welcome to my journal, that’s a good question indeed. I will need to say that I haven’t done a manifold grow but from my understanding, there is pros and cons to both ways (well any method really) but I believe scrog will give a potential for a larger yield per plant. What is it 8-16 colas per plant on a manifold plant and using my Cherry Poppers and Lemon Cherry Gelato as an example, between them they have more than 60 tops but they are all pretty crowded and air flow could easily be a problem. Also my plants are not going anywhere until they get chopped but the manifold method you could move them around, take them to a bench to work on them etc, etc. Also I would imagine at first a manifold would be more labour intensive but after you’ve set your colas up, scrogging probably takes over with all the tucking. I would also bet that a manifold grow will require a longer veg time to recover from all the precision cuts. Hope that goes some way to answering your question but I will also add that it is your preferences that is the top reason to choose a method and as long as you follow a good standard of operational practices you will succeed with your goals.

My tent is starting to smell gorgeously, I think it smells like overly ripe and started turn berries.
I did a little top dress last night with the bloom (3 tablespoons per palnt) and a small top watering with Biosys tea. Also took a handful of leaves of the Lemon Cherry Gelato and Epic Buzz.
Watermelon Zittles is starting to stack em up nicely and I think the Epic Buzz is gonna have some real chunky buds.

Definitely a soothing place to be, I have myself a comfortable camping chair in front of the tent and have nearly fallen asleep sitting there a few times.
