Mutant Plants UPDATE

Not too long ago I made a post about my mutant “Goon Gusherz”

Update: she’s no longer trifoliating but she’s growing a lower top!

Still don’t know what happened here but I’m running this plant’s genetics FOREVER even it means her clones are normal.

Lol they get exciting do you follow @MADMAN-Kryptic he loves them he has great diary. I’m learning bout mutants right now it’s so interesting.

Woah! Super interesting, it seems that nod specifically is mutated, ive seen this happen before but expressed differently

On the Rated R i recently chopped, one node had “whorled phyllotaxy”, this is when instead of 2 leaves per node, it had 3! This can result in that branch stacking a larger and lighter mass of flowers, which it did!

On the Supa Slick Shore im currently flowering and working with, has a strange leaf mutation i cant pin point -

This genetic, shows mainly “classic” leaves, but has a lineage with “fern”, “ducksfoot”,“raptor” and various other leaf mutations! So im guessing this is one sneaking through! One of the reasons i chose to cross it with the Ethiopian male

Interestingly, it also shows single leaves when flowering, but not before! Im hoping and working with this for a “washer” genetic!

I often used clone ex and sometimes these kind of mutations happened to me too. They are nice to watch:eyes:

I actually have a triple headed clone as we speak

Hmm im guessing the excess amount of clonex caused this? I use clonex in my cotton pads to germinate often and am now wondering if this is why some of them come out slightly mutated… but im not sure!

I have a Nirvana - Aurora Auto that is highly mutated on its first set of leaves and had trouble germinating, but the other seeds i also germinated in cotton pads with slight clonex seemed fine

Are you using Cal/Mag in your feeding regiment? If so the plants look as if they need some! If your coco isnt well made and “buffered” it will be stealing the calcium from something called “the cation response”, which is essentially to do with positive and negative charges in nutrients (canr entirely remember the science but the simple is - the coco steals calcium if not “buffered”)

I can see you are in coco? When the plants are pretty much filling the medium with roots, you want to be watering almost “to drain” if using coco, it works a bit different than soil, if your medium is well made with good aeration with perlite it allows air to pass through the roots and keep the medium at a certain moisture, if certain areas of the medium are dry by the point the roots area reaching out towards the edges, this could cause root decomposition in those areas, which in the long run will cause majour fluctations in pH and possibly cause disease

If not using some form of “enzyme” i highly suggest using it in your feed regiment, this will help turn dead root mass into nutriention for the plant, and help with overall health

Can i ask what pH you feed at also? In coco you want to be around 5.8-6.2

Heres a good video you might want to check out, i know ive watched some seed to harvests in coco too, but watching seed to harvesta youll only get a small amount of info from problems run into during the grow or whatever, i know theres a few other coco growers on Garden Talk too im having trouble finding

Its terpes and taste are devine, its quite similar to a skunk/cheese with floral sour fruity terpes, im going to get the photoperiod of it soon for sure!

I only use it for clones:thinking:thats interesting. Have to try that next time

goon was from seed.. the triple headed clone was from one of my plants, getting a trifoliated branch after i fimmed it

I use veg bloom tap hard and I do like to keep my water in between 5.5 and 6.5 and I peaked my EC out at 2.3.

The hormones help speed up and guarentee the germination!

Before doing this i wash the seeds with a hydrogen peroxide wash also

Ohh!

Well this makes sense if its a clone, normally if you clone a plant, you want too clean up all of the nodes other nodal sites and only leave its top node on

Leaf trimming is also done, to stop the plant from focusing on photosynthesis, and more on developing its roots

So basically, because you cloned a node that was “fim’ed”, the hormones in the plant are treating that node equally to the other top node sites next to it and because its smaller, its fighting with the other node for nutrients + sharing hormones

If you dont “clean” a cut before placing in a medium, and make sure its in a stable environment, mutations from stress are highly likely

Up until now, I’ve only used H2O2 to clean my bubble hash washing machine. But I’ll give it a try next time :+1:t2:

No issues happened at all during their entire veg! The triple head branch (now one of my “Sexy Skittlez” clones) grew at the same length as everyone else before gettin snipped.

Also her whole stem got thicc like actual tree bark

Attached you’ll see sexy on the bottom left. 9 weeks of veg, currently day 2 of flower

These are also gonna be the SMALLEST plants i ever harvest. Im expecting 6 ounces at the worst. Harvesting sooner will let me find out sooner if I like these genetics. I have clones of everyone that I will veg for 90+ days each
