New here? Say Hello in this Thread

Hello… I’m new to this group.

What interests me about cannabis is the different strains, ways to grow and different ways to ingest the finished product.

My current experience level is beginner. I can’t wait to hear all the great advice on growing.

What I’m hoping to get out of this community is great growing advice. I’m also looking to connect with other growers to see what works for them.

I’m Michael New York….. I’m in my 60’s already and don’t know where the time went. Husband, grandfather, speed junkie as in MPH. Enjoy my go fast toys. I have been enamored with cannabis since an early age . My neighbor ,when I was 15-16… had a basement full of weed, dry and for sale. Pounds and pounds of Acapulco gold, Thai stick, etc, but I did not partake in smoking until years later.

I started growing by accident, dropping a few seeds in my tomato and basil plants on a sunny patio in Bklyn. I decided to start a small outdoor grow when I found a suitable sunny spot and put a few Seedsman seeds in fabric pots using Fox Farm nutrients. ( maybe pics added if I can figure that one out)

So , here I am 7 years later, a very late in life homeowner with a nice sunny summer spot of my own. 10 gallon Fabric pots have been good to me but this past spring/summer I put 3 plants in the ground for the first time. Interesting results………

………… 12 Footers……. and still learning . The actual streetlight is so strong I don’t think these girls went to sleep until late September. Peace and good vibes… mg

Hello all my fellow growmies. My name’s Nic, I’ve been cultivating these magnificent plants for 12 years now. I’ve learned a lot throughout these years, due in part to wonderful communities like this one.

I’ve grown autos, fast flowering, photos, and recently started playing around with breeding. I’ve grown all three types in organic soil, soilless medium, hydroponics, fogponics, as well as aeroponics. I enjoy pushing the limits to see what wonderful things can be displayed by these lovely ladies.

I, by no means, believe I have all the answers, but I’m more than happy to help in areas that I have knowledge in as well as learn new techniques and skills along the way.

Thank you Seedsman for providing a wonderful community and the opportunity to learn from others. Happy cultivating growmies, May all your harvest be bountiful.

Hey everyone,

Just finished my grow in the bmg competition. I’ve been growing since the pandemic. Some people did sourdough, I guess this is what I chose lol.

I would say I’m intermediate. Definitely past the new grower jitters of being afraid I’m doing something wrong or when a problem comes up. Not that I don’t screw up, I just don’t get worried like i used to.

I’m happy to be here so I can further my own education and perhaps help some overcome issues that I’ve seen over the years.

Cheers growmies!

Yes … that’s a 6 foot fence!!! Not sure about the actual amount because i gifted so much right off the tree . It was just too much, and the whole block saw so I just gave it away :innocent:…. I recently started my first indoor 5x5 grow under a Medic Grow Smart 8 (750watt) 5 autos Lemon Pie and one other and things are going ok I think….. possibly a potassium deficiency so I’m using MAMMOTH P., Recharge, and cal-mag.

Name’s Duncan. Been growing for a few years now. I’m glad to see a forum opening up here because most Discords have too many jerks in them. I’m stocking up on seeds at the moment because of the government and all that fun stuff. But I grow in a 4x4 and I’m starting some outdoor plants this season. I planted some outdoor last year but they ended up male. Always learning and open to new ideas.

Hello everyone I am the CosmicPurpleOne.

I think that Cannabis is a really neat plant. It’s range of colors, smell and effects. I also love to learn it’s history. It is my intention to learn some of its historical uses and to read about it’s social effects both in the faaaaar past and in more recent times.

I am a very new grower who often shoots from the hip and goes with my gut. I started with a single DWC but ran into slight issues that stunted my first grow, a photoperiod, and instead of calling it quits I popped 2 auto flowers on Coco. The current plan is to veg the photo until the autos are ready to flower, flip and cross them fingers.

My hope is to find like minded people. Adults who enjoy everything cannabis has to offer. A maturity that can be hard to find on other social media. Talk about philosophy, history, and some of the more academic things in and around cannabis.

Hi, I’m Schuyler (Sky-ler). I have been a recreational cannabis user for 60 years or so and growing for the last four or five–since it became legal in Arizona. I grew up on a farm, so I know gardening, in general, but I’m learning indoor RDWC hydro is a completely new world from growing veggies in soil outdoors. All my crops have turned out well, but I’m sure there’s much more to learn, so I came here. Thanks for admitting me to the Seedsman community!

Hi I’m Kiki and yeahhhhhh communities.

  1. What interests you about Cannabis?

Everything about it but now that I know better I’m learning more about the medicinal side of the plant.

  2. What’s your current experience level (new / intermediate / experienced)? I’m somewhere stuck in the middle. I have been growing for about three years, but I’m still learning every day from somebody knew.

  3. What are you hoping to get out of this community?

I’m looking to get education, friendship, tips, understand understanding, and maybe even some questions to some answers that I don’t know what they are yet lol.

Hello community

Im Lance retired vet and would fall into new grower category. While its been a lifelong passion with Father and Grandfather i was to young to fully appreciate and learn from em before they passed. While have a deep passion and appreciation of this wonderful plant i want to be able to have quality medicine and help bring a understanding to those unaware as well as learn more myself. Also being part of a community that shares this passion is a major plus

Good idea seedsman! I’ve been growing fkr a few years now. I have a good story behind it i guess you could say. Im 34 now but when i was ten my father (a airborne army ranger who left for work each day mon-sat leave at 4a be home by 6p) broke both his neck and back at the same time doing construction. I grew up watching my father struggle with pain and addiction for decades. And it was a legal addiction., but still 2 oxycottin 80mg, 2 percocet 30mg, 2 Xanax 2mg, 2 soma 350mg, each day. And some days I would see my dad hurt so much and eat a handful of “legal” drugs just to escape reality and pass out eventually to escape the pain. I get it as I broke both my feet at the same time when I was 16 and I have a problem walking at 34 and standing for even 15 minutes at a time. The doctor told my father he couldn’t write his medication if he passed dirty for Marijuana, then our state made it .medically legal, so my dad got the green card so something like a joint dosent screw up his medications. But my dad told me one day (crying as he’s telling me this) that if he could just have some reefer whenever he wanted (needed) he wouldn’t eat all these pills. Well i took up growing and after my first harvest in a 5x5 (it wasn’t the best but now it’s the best in town) pops put the pill bottles down, I grant him it took him a year, but hey , you try eating all of those drugs every day legally , because , you know , you’re going to get them regardless and after a couple decades , you’re hooked mentally and physically. But after that , one year , my dad went down to just getting 2 percocet 10mg a day, i mean, he’s literally had 30 plus surgeries. He even had a morphine pump inside of him at one point. But now he doesn’t even eat those pills every day. It’s just when he has a real bad day.And he feels like he needs to eat one. Which i’m not gonna hound him for that. But yeah , I just do it for my family really. Only child, it feels good to come over to the parent’s house with the best reefer in town and burn one down with the two people that love you the most in this world! Kinda cheesy story but true! God bless yall!!!

Hi Everyone, My name is Mark, I’m really looking forward to being an asset to the community as Seedsman launches this fantastic opportunity for all of us to come together and become better farmers/cultivators of Cannabis.

What truly amazes me about this plant are a few things.

  1. and we all joke about this one,.. it’s the only Schedule 1 drug (until it’s signed into law as SchedULE 3) that does not cause fatal harm to the user!!
  2. It amazes me that a plant we’ve all been criminalized for, has safer medicinal benefits that anything Big Pharma produces.
  3. It’s something we can all grow (most states) and do so in a toxic-free way (no chemical pesticides).
  4. It’s actually a beautiful plant to grow… until you flower her and she “sheds those extra pounds”(her fan leaves) and changes her colors!!!

What is my current experience? Well, as a teen I used to get High Times magazines and even started out with closet grows using standard 4ft fluorescent lights. Years later, as an adult with adult kids, I was able to “come out of the closet” (not the gay kind) once it became recreationally legal to grow. My recent experience is mastering a 4x4 grow tent pulling 1-2lbs every 4mo. With plans to move this spring, my future grows will be all outdoors, so i get to transition my indoor knowledge to the outdoors. So from all this, I acknowledge that I’ve always got room to grow, despite being quite “experienced” with cultivation.

As for what I’m hoping to get out of this community, I kinda covered that in my intro!!!

Happy Harvest,

Mark
