Grow Odyssey of 1+ Year

Starting Point

I started growing in early 2025. (Except for 2 autos we tried to grow in a window pot with bogus lights and no humi. A measley eighth yield. I would please like to have that grow stricken from my permanent record.)

I started growing at first to save money. I was not expecting to find it incredibly satisfying and rewarding! My Grow Father (trusted old friend & experienced indoor & outdoor grower) gave me the idea, confidence, and encouragement to grow, “You don’t need a side hustle; you need to grow your own!” He also provided me with a spreadsheet of dreams for my grow, with links & discount codes. And of course Seedsman was on that list (since he told me about it for those window plants.) I toured & helped with his garden, read all that I could, and a zillion YouTube vids later, I grew over a pound of fire. I am eternally grateful for his help.

What it has given me

Growing has given me the confidence to overcome something that I thought I could never do. I’m so proud of leaving all that doubt behind.

My saving money on cannabis concerns were erased after my first grow. The cost of a tent & gear was negligible compared to the amount of my first grow.

I fit gardening tasks into my life and mostly garden in the evenings. I garden in mornings only on the weekends. I do a quick garden check in the morning to see progress and fill the dehu. I have a grow cam so that I can peep in on my plants from afar - something to lift my spirits when life gets me down. Tough time at work? I have a tent full of cannabis! Pains in my hip & knee? Smoke/enjoy edibles of my very own efforts from jars full of cannabis!

Choosing Seeds

Seedsman made it a breeze to select parameters for my first & subsequent grows. I love that you have high quality and reliable seed banks from around the globe. And great customer service.

Reflection

I could have never imagined that I would be a successful grower who fully enjoys the process! There was a string of deceased houseplants under my care, or lack there of, who would be shocked at what I’ve accomplished with cannabis.

What I would tell new growers is to have patience and don’t give up! Cannabis is a hearty plant; it’s not like you’re growing rare, fragile orchids. If growing in soil, get yourself a soil moisture meter - best $30ish I spent! Also if you have issues controlling heat in seedling & veg states, investigate VPD (vapor pressure deficit) and get a smart humi to dial in a happy plant enviro. I wish beginning growers all the best in your journeys!

Thanks! Since my tent is conveniently located in my living room, I enjoy checking on the gals several times a day. So rewarding! I wish them a good morning & a good night. Which is a great time to check / refill the humi.

My tent is in the “office” room.

Nice! Since we’re in a one bedroom apt, my living room serves to be the following rooms: lung room, office, dining, guest bedroom, TV / stereo entertainment center, and everything else that doesn’t take place in the rest.

We do what we have to. We have high standards, firm boundaries, and prioritize our plants. :pink_heart:
