How do I top a plant with offset branches?

Most online tutorials give topping directions for plants with equal branches on both sides, I just noticed that the branches on my Seedsman clones are offset.

The same, when you have enough branches. They just won’t be pairs, you can still shape them the same

Where do I make the node cut?

Don’t top it supercrop it! Bend the top shoot over and even out the canopy and you will achieve the same effect without the big stress!

I have found all the info except for where to make the actual cut.

Just bring it down to the hight you want. Don’t leave a big old stem sticking up, cut it down near a node so it’s neat. You can remove up to half the plant without really injuring it when it’s really healthy in veg like yours. If you remove less than a third of the hight you’ll barely even phase the plant.

Another option is to FIM the plant before it gets stretchy, like I did with the Jokerz clone pictured here.

Personally, I’d cut it here:

Then I’d take the cut and root it. :pink_heart:

Thank you for that.

Sorry to be contrarian but I’d top here or higher and remove the bottom two branches for clones

Totally get it. :pink_heart:

I made the comment as what I see as producing the most even canopy possible, based on where it currently is in growth.

Rooting the top because it has 80% of the plant’s current growth hormone. Otherwise generally take cuttings low on the plant.

Yeah id go quarter to halfway down and super crop she’ll bounce back over night helps expose bud sites too

If I was prepping them to go outside i would go with one of the methods described by Mr. Nice or Smokeout81, since you’ll get quality bud from the side branches outdoors. If you’re growing them out indoors I would go for the even canopy.

You can easily make an even canopy topping/pinching where I said or above. Just remove those top two fan leaves driving to tops and LST a bit to let the other branches catch up.
I always remove/lollipop the bottom branches anyway they tend to be lower producing

Top it or bend it over. Top at 4th or 5th node

All you want is an even canopy. You can also bend them over

This one we bent the top over and tucked her

Made my cuts. Thanks to all who replied.

No going back now :face_with_peeking_eye::face_with_peeking_eye:
