Lemon Cherry Cookies- first automatic grow

Sometimes I start the first seedling pots with a little less soil/ coco at first, so if seedlings get leggy then I can just add more soil/ coco…..

Yup, I just adjusted and measured it. The light is dimmable, but according to my PPFD reader, the plant gets around 100 PPFD which should be plenty enough.

Yeah, I plan to add some more soil with the next watering as I purposely left some space to top it up.

Day #3

Looks like it’s reaching for the stars
As it has gotten quite leggy I added some more soil to give it a better hold. I wonder why it’s stretching like this, since it’s getting about 150 PPFD

Do not trust any light meter. Watch the plant. If you are continuing to stretch -stop it by moving the light closer or add more power. More information of the light you have would be helpful!

That’s a pretty thorough run through of lighting basics. I’d use that as a start point for sure!

This is what Photone just said my outside daytime light was. However I have a clone in the sun and it is loving it

Thanks for your feedback.
I’ve now turned up the light to about 60%, giving the plant approximately 500 PPFD, and I also increased the distance 40cm. Will see how she reacts to that.

These are the lights I’m using

Where were you beforehand?

It was at 150 PPFD and 30cm distance

Take it back to 30 and just increase the power some. You don’t want too much light at this point. Just enough ya know

Yeah, I’ve had it at about 275 PPFD until yesterday and ramped it up to 370PPFD. Checked on her this morning and she seems to enjoy it. Full on in praying position :slightly_smiling_face:

I give my seedlings ~250 PPFD from day 1, bump to 500 after about a week. Keeps them nice and squat.

Day #6

As the soil settled a bit, I added some more today. The seedling also got around 100ml of water and I turned up the light to about 400 PPFD.

Unfortunately, the fans I had ordered didn’t arrive yet, which means that I’ll have to do a trip to the local grow shop tomorrow. At least I’ll support the local business a bit .

Bright new growth. Good choice to add more light to 400ppfd!

Day #8

With the new fan installed it seems like the little plant is even happier than before. Pointing her leaves towards the light and taking in as much light as possible.
