Thank you for sharing growmie soil compaction and aeration are definitely a plus.
So along with this cover crop thing what does everyone think about leaving their old roots in the soil or actually not removing them. But mending them into the new soil for the next grow.?
thanks for the reply! yeah i was familiar with this process and the benefits for outdoor but indoor is blowing my mind a little - guess this depends if you are using 'living soil (which is new to me!) as technically soil is mother earth’s magic act and most mixes in bags are really substrate / medium so if using those i wonder if it would be similar? or if it has to be ‘living soil’ to work optimally? since mixes don’t have the same complexity - very curious now about all this!
Hey @Pops
Yh definitely leave the old root system in there, the new roots will be able to hook up to the same mycelium network plus the worms and phosphate-solubilizing bacteria will break them down creating plant available nutrients.
Yh the idea is to use living soil as most bag soil is actually quite sterile but saying that having a cover crop will add benefits to any soil style of grow but the results be betting in living soil.
@RomulusHighCommand loving your grow and love seeing a fellow living soil fam.
Keep up the great work.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge
Yes u can leave it all besides root ball! Just use something to break everything down! Example is Cannazym or similar.
Day 12
: So it looks like a little nute burn on the leaf tip, even though i measured out the correct ec/ppm (slightly lower to avoid this). No stress tough, next watering will be just H20 and potassium silicate, and I’ll see how it goes from there and re-introduce later. My last grow I didnt have to feed anything, apart from using potassium silicate as pH up, until at least a month in, so it will probably be the same here. Also, it looks like her inner stem is busting out of her outer skin on one side here. It seemed more pronounced than I’ve seen and caught me off guard lol. That’s it for today, have a great weekend everybody!
(sorry I was having problems posting)
Any tips/contructive criticisms, or corrections are appreciated and welcomed. I’m doing the best I can, but theres so much left for me to learn, and I appreciate any help to elevate my skills and knowledge as a grower. Also plz let me know if I should move my updates to it’s own thread, it kind of feels like I’m crowding the space rn. Have a great Saturday everybody!

Probably not nute burn this early. They will actually feed off the cotelydon for a couple weeks until you actually need to feed them. Also it may just be external nute burn as you may have got the nutrients on the leaves when you were watering/feeding them. They look great no worries those leaves will probably be trimmed during the lollipop
Also if your leaves are praying upward then they are happy and yours appear to be.
Thank you! Since then I thought maybe it could have been a slight root issue from overwatering. It hasn’t spread further since that first picture marking it though. I also set up the self-watering base so watering won’t be an issue if it was that.
You’re welcome. They are still quite young. And a little dry back is ok too especially in soil, it allows more oxygen to the roots as well. Being small they don’t drink as much water that fast but as they grow you’ll notice them drinking more.
Who was the breeder? Are they available seeds?
Does look like it was a little too wet early, not enough to cause real problems though. Just don’t keep it that wet, like Pops said they need the oxygen.
Probably be too early to use the self watering base, I would let the pot dry out a bit and the plant get a bit bigger first.
It’s Blue Star and DJ Short collab, fem seeds. Here’s a pic of the seed pack Old School Genetics Lounge .
