The story of BIGWORM

I was introduced to cannabis at a young age by my older friends. I was immediately intrigued by the smell, taste, and how it made everything fun. As I got into highschool, I was buying high times magazines and reading everything I could about it. I loved smoking it, talking about it, and learning what I could without the Internet. Of course back in the 90s in order to get our hands on weed, we took our lives in our hands trying to cop a nick or dime bag of stems and seeds in some shady spot with even shadier people. This is when I started to want to grow my own. Obviously I couldn’t do it in my house being I was maybe 13. I found a few friends who helped me find a spot in the woods to get a grow going. We found a spot by a steam that had really good cover. We dug a trench from the stream to a small field planted some seeds and walked away. A few weeks later we went back and saw some plants. I instantly fell in love with the plant. We put some fertilizer down and left for a little while longer. We went back only to find police tape up and all the plants ripped out. I tried a few more times but all ended in failure. Some were my fault some were from people talking and needing to get rid of everything.

Years later I decided to try again. First I had to convince my wife, that was easier then I thought. Next was the setup. I was struggling money wise so I had to piece stuff together. Eventually I had a tent, light, carbon filter, pots, and seeds I saved from the 90s. I had over 500 seeds that I tried to pop a few at a time but they always failed to germinate. I eventually got up enough guts to order seeds online. Then I got nervous they were tracked and the feds were waiting for me to get halfway done the grow and they would bust in and arrest me, so I held off for a year.

I was reading on how to grow organically one day and decided, “this is it”. I went to my seed stash and dropped 2 white widow autos into a shot glass of water. The next day I had tap roots. I was so excited, I took the day off work, set up my tent, got my soil, and planted them little babies. 4 months later I cut my first plants down! I kept the thickest main stem and made a pipe out of it. After waiting damn near a month of drying and curing, I got to sit down and try my first hit of the weed I grew. It tasted better then anything I ever had. I was instantly hooded on home grown weed.

I been doing this for 3 years now and I don’t even smoke herb anymore, but my wife loves it. I just love the process of growing. It’s therapeutic for me. I get in that tent, talk to my girls, trim and train and enjoy the smells. My wife loves the fact we know what goes into my plants and that they are not treated with chemicals that cause harm.

Great story I love it. I was never interested in growing but my spouse suffers from PTSD and when he wanted to move and grow I supported him :100: things are starting to look a little better for us and look up. I’m learning about it cuz I smoke it and want to help him grow our medical stuff.
