Outdoor and indoor seeds

Is there a difference between the two and what are the differences? Do I have to grow them with different light schedules?

No; same light schedules, but difference in general plant size.

Nowadays, it’s always best to find your available vertical space, and choose a suitable variety based on that space. After all, what would you do with a 12’ tall plant in a 6’ tall space?

I’m not saying that growing a landrace sativa in a closet/tent is impossible, but it will take some advanced techniques to see it through to the finish. :pink_heart:

Being in a hi humidity environment I choose strain based on the mold resistance.

Mostly hybrids or Sativas . Now I have grown nidica or hybrid leaning on the indica side more. They do great until the last 2 weeks and most the time bud rot will be seen.
For choosing out door definitely work with ur environment better ur odds for less issues. Hopefully!

Apples and oranges my friend.
I’m assuming you mean autos and photos.
You can grow either inside or out.
When you grow inside, your goal is to mimic the outside.
Photo plants require a certain light schedule, most people grow photos on an 18/6 light schedule during veg, then switch to 12/12 for flowering.
During this transition, the photos will grow up to 3 times it’s size.
Without getting into heavy training of the branches, it will outgrow the space quickly.
Autos on the other hand, grow by a predetermined clock, that is always ticking. After about 4 weeks of veg, it will automatically flower. Regardless of light schedule. You can grow autos on 24 hr light if you want.
Either can be grown inside or out.

There are actually a lot of seed banks that explicitly state for each of their strains whether they are suitable for indoor or outdoor growing

I would love to see someone attempt a Highland Purple Thai in a tent, lol! :pink_heart:

Got a seed or a clone? I will do it.

That would be interesting to watch, but it’s not impossible with the right training :saluting_face:

Lots and lots of training and topping. Been there, done that. It’s why I first started breeding in the 90s…short Thai plants. :pink_heart:

I fondly remember Thai’s from being in SW Asia in the mid 70’s and some making it to SoCal in the late 70’s. What is your favorite indoor Thai strain that is powerful? I would like to try to grow it. I am in SW Colorado so my outdoor season is way too short for 14 to…? week flowering. Thanks, Jerry

I would recommend purple Thai or my Thai.

Hi @Jerry, some seeds even made it back to So Cal in the late 80s when I brought them back myself!

My favorite indoor Thai variety would have been the one I made from those seeds, KGB-51, or Kanchanaburi Gancha Backcross iteration #51. Long lineage involving Mendo, NL, and Skunk, always backcrossed to F1 Mendo-Thai mother.

I’ve never tried to grow any of the modern Thai varieties, so I can’t speak to that.

But if I had to pick something out of a lineup, Temple Flo from DJ Short. :pink_heart:
