1998 F4 Blueberry🫐 and Peyote WIFI🏜

Quick update: Peyote WIFi is doing well, getting noticeably bigger by the day. The 98’ Blueberry is still struggling. I’ve got some 7 gallon planters arriving tomorrow for transplanting. Hopefully the extra space in the living soil will help the roots situation. Also, if anybody has an idea of what could be causing the “sun tanned” looking discoloration (that’s not a shadow), im open to any suggestions. I immediately thought lights, but PPFD is only 500 at the very top center of the plant.

The aggressive yellowing of the tops looks like Iron lockout to me. Too wet/cold soil, high pH >7.0, and excess Cal, Mag or Phos can reduce uptake.
Probably the result of keeping the soil too wet, and could be high pH. Do you have CalMag with Iron? A foliar feed and soil drench with that could help

Hey thanks for the help! So for iron there’s 2 products that have it, the CaliMagic is 0.1% iron, and Marphyl is 0.00042%. No extra phosphorus. Could it be from all the clover cover crops that were chopped and left in, or the unwashed fabric planter with accumulated nutrients/salts? It’s definitely been wet for too long at a time for most of it’s life, though the last 3 waterings I tried to let it dry back properly before rehydrating. The heat in the tent can get up to 25°C without the AC on, and down to 19°C at night, but mostly stays between 19-23°C. And the pH of the runoff was im fact slightly elevated at 6.8pH. I’ll be transplanting it tomorrow with the living soil(ingredients photo above), should I wait until after its been watered and see if it makes a difference?

Sounds good, I don’t think the clover or dirty pot would be much of an issue. Temps sounds good and pH not bad. A feed with the CaliMagic at slightly lower 6.2pH would help get the iron in quicker, could do a 1ml/L foliar too.
Transplant should be fine, just water it in with the CaliMagic

We use Earth Juice Oil Can cal mag. Its organic and quick fix for calcium deficiency. Also try ammending some Rootz Organic Elemental. It’s really good stuff. Both are really good. Take Care

Thanks! I’ll start with foliar and then add it next watering since I already watered it in with just over 1 gallon of filtered water with nothing added to it. Though, I did dust the new soil on the bottom of the 7 gallon, and around the damp root ball/soil from the blueberry with some Big Foot Mycorrhizae which contains worm castings and softwood biochar.

Update, Peyote WIFI day 23, and 98’ Blueberry day 50: Peyote WIFI is doing great so far. The last pic of the Peyote WIFI you can see I started some leaf tucking for LST. Only thing is slight yellowing at the tips of the newest set of leaves, though I haven’t added anything to the water filtered to 0ppm so the soil might be a tiny bit hot, but it’s loving it other than that. As for the 98’ Blueberry, I transplanted it to a 7 gallon fabric planter just over 2 days ago, and I can finally see some positive signs, like the leaves starting to perk up a tiny bit and some noticeable growth from one day to the next. I’ll be doing a calmag foliar spray and feed in next watering. If you notice on the 2 pictures with the netting leveled horizontaly, you can see the one where tops are below the net was taken yesterday morning about 11am EST on the 17th, and the one where the tops are just starting to poke through the net was taken today around 3:30pm. Oh and I added the net lol.

Thanks! She’s been a breeze to grow so far, you can tell it’s from good stock. I really hope I get an extra colorful pheno. Now I just need the Blueberry to fully heal so I can relax! Lol.

Update, 98’ Blueberry - Day 55, and Peyote WIFI - Day 28: I cleaned up the Blueberry again under the second node of every branch. I’ll fill the bottom half of the canopy starting from the bottom left corner to center with the blueberry, and the top half starting from the top right corner to center with the Peyote WIFI. Once every top of the blueberry is leveled just above the net, I’ll top them all, then bend as it grows to fill the canopy. Once the bottom half is filled, I’ll most likely start flowering so I don’t run out of space. I feel good about flowering the Peyote WIFI at the same time since it’s been growing big and fast. The Peyote WIFI has been doing fantastic! This one I’ve only been watering with 0-12ppm water, straight from the water filter jug without adding anything, and it’s been doing awesome with just this living soil. The only other thing I did was 1 trearment of potassium silicate foliar spray 2 days ago at lights off (on both plants). Which reminds me I also did a cal-mag foliar spray on the blueberry 4 days ago. I thinks that’s it for today. Have a great rest of the weekend everyone!

So far I can say she can take one hell of a beating and recover well, lol. I just wish I had started it in the same soil as the Peyote WIFI, and held off on the self-watering base for a while longer to not drown the roots. But she’s coming back strong. The problems I’ve had were are all human error. I checked Brothers Grimm not long ago and saw the Bubbles Blueberry F4 that interested me, which is “DJ Short Blueberry F3 x DJ Short Blueberry F3”, as opposed to Bluestar’s 1998 F4 Blueberry, which is “1998 F4 Blueberry x 1998 F4 Blueberry S1”. I’ll be getting some eventually just to see how it compares. I’ve enjoyed seeing your updates too, super healthy looking plants!

They look great Romulus and as a fan of the peyote wifi I’m thrilled yours is going well. I also like that you showed your scrog method as well we learned of scrogging here and I can’t wait to try it.

Thanks! Though I am a bit embarrassed that of course the first plant I show off on here it had to run into problems lol. If it wasn’t for my beginner mistakes it should have been topped at least 2-3 times by now, filled the canopy and started flowering. And it’s always awesome to see the legitimate trees you guys are growing out there!

Nothing to be embarrassed about bud, these things happen. Some plants are just weak or grow funky.
