Super Sour Double Diesel -Eqgenetics

I’m running these pretty much on 12/12 from seed.

They had 2 weeks in small starter pots.

I met the breeder of equilibrium genetics (jasonmatthys) at the Oregon growers cup. He had a booth so I went and talked to him for awhile. I went there hoping to find some new genetics.

I had never heard of equilibrium. He’s from Mendocino.

I bought 3 packs from him and this is one of them. When I bought them, the pack said 12 seeds. When I looked inside, the whole vial was full of seeds. 50 or 100 seeds even though it was labeled as 12.

I have culled 2 males right away

I separated one of them because the structure was crazy. Even though it’s a male, it’s one of the only plants to produce side branching and was filling out like crazy.

This round I didn’t wanna mess around with males, as I did last round and was able to produce a ton of seeds. But nonetheless I wasn’t going to mess with pollen and males but then I jsee this one with the best structure out of the 11 plants and I haven’t culled it yet

enjoyed checking out your grow pix and posts - thanks for sharing! the plants look great - so you only had them on 12/12 the whole time??? that’s cool i used to only be able to grow reg seeds and spent a decade dealing with culling males - wasn’t equipped for breeding but always hated removing the most outstanding male plants

good luck with your grow - am a big fan of sour diesel so super sour diesel must be awesome

I also have a cutting of the notsodog sour d

I don’t have much experience with sours. But I wanted something different so I decided to see what I can find in these seeds.

I had them in starter pots for a couple weeks before I transplanted them to 1 gallon pots and put them under 12/12 lighting.

The starter pots were super small solo cups. I believe 6-8 oz instead of the regular 16- 18 oz

Thanks for checking out the grows on here.

Posting start to finish grows of what I’m growing is my way of contributing lol

It’s cool to be apart of this community from the beginning

that’s awesome - totally agree too, have learned so much in this community already and am hanging out here after a smoke by moonlight - while doing light research / reading about PAR PPF PPFD to actually understand what it means lol

i like the approach with a short veg and starting them this way - have a ton of old seeds and want to work in some reg seed cycles soon, with whatever is still viable as i know there’s some great genes in there

looking forward to seeing the progress as the grow continues + thanks for the cool reply

Yeah I’m not really going for yield. I just want to see the plants expressions but also cycle them quickly to get some other seeds in there to replace the males. I normally have atleast 2 tents for a perpetual set up.

So using regs is helpful and running them on 12/12 super young helps limit the resources I may use on males. But in general it helps keep resources low.

Plus I’ve never done it. So I have to do it at least twice lol

Thank you again for checking out and commenting and having a conversation. I appreciate it.

I have a small YouTube channel as well if you’re interested in video content of the same topics. Most are relevant to what I’m doing now unless you dive deep into the older videos from the last year

yeah thanks for sharing this it gave me a new perspective on some experiments i want to try in the near future, with all the reg seeds i have - grew for a decade before being able to get any feminized seeds but then in the second decade only grew feminized so i’m excited to get back to this as a project - reeeeally hoping some seeds are still viable cuz i know there are some really unique genetics in there

but yeah a lot more resources required for dealing with males! time effort dirt pots space nutrients - usually grows were pretty consistent with 50% or more female but once i did 24 plants and only 6 turned out to be girls lol it was rough

good luck with your super sour diesel run - look forward to seeing the progress as they grow  checked out your youtube channel too its cool, super mellow good vibes and fun seeing your setup - thank you too for the exchange and inspiration!

really dig your @AestheticgenetiX222 handle and graphics too - am an artist and aesthetics is central to the whole growing experience - love being as creative as possible with whatever genetix are in the mix in the moment

Thank you! I appreciate that. I thought of it forever ago. I love the word aesthetic, it’s literally an aesthetic word. There’s probably a word for that lol

I thought of it forever ago when I first started growing. When I first started smoking, the genetics side of things intrigued me.

But anyways I knew I’d eventually play around with breeding and I thought AestheticGenetiX would be a cool brand name

Yeah it’s different every time I think. With my last run, I started with 10 seeds and ended up with 4 males and 3 females. I believe the split is more 60/40 than 50/50. My understanding was that they’ll naturally produce more females for reproduction purposes. But I also got more males than females on that run. Granted 2 didn’t make it above soil and 1 I culled for being a run. But out of 7, I only got 3 females lol

But this run with super sour double diesel. I popped 11 and I’ve culled 3 males. So that split was closer to 70/30 with 8 females and 3 males. Could have a late male somewhere but it doesn’t seem like it.

I’m about to pop some older seeds from my father in law. Assuming anything’s viable.

But my recommendation is using 1% h202 or hydrogen peroxide after 24 hours of soaking in water. It boosts Germination success quite well

thats so cool - and yeah totally agree the word aesthetic is aesthetic lol - but it fits perfect - good luck with your continued exploration and expirements, and with those seeds

thank you for the recommendation with the h2O2 for older seeds too - can’t wait to get back into this and was curious about the best way to go about it!
